Simon Ortner
Born in 1981, lives and works in France.
Simon Ortner is a painter and gardener by trade, he studied agriculture and is a graduate of the Quimper Fine Arts School. His landscape paintings reflect his daily work.
"I use the landscape as a genre because I experience raw, wild sensations in contact with nature, which lead me, in all places, into a pictorial reflection. I carefully observe the landscapes I cross, the excessiveness, the elevations, the presence of the earth, the sky, and the colors. My work is a point of reflection on my journey through nature. It is a pretext for the development of an informal painting. In this sense to join an idea of nature which works in a constant rebirth."
